Welcome to Ithaca's homepage!
Ithaca is an initiative of the Belgian Projects of MSF and stands for "Information on Treatment
and Healthcare Accessibility in Countries of Origin". You can read

This site aims to provide country
of origin information and has its main focus on basic healthcare and
treatment of HIV/AIDS in countries in which MSF-Belgium has projects.
In addition, the legal rights of people resident in Europe and unable to return to their country of origin due to lack of adequate medical care is examined in detail on our legal
frame page.
In our links section
we provide you with further interesting documents and sites of other
organisations dealing with this matter.
As information on the prevailing medical situation in countries of origin
has become increasingly important in asylum procedures in Europe, Ithaca
started a cooperation with ECOI.NET. The aim is to develop a structured
approach to ensure comprehensive coverage of the issue. All information
regarding this issue is accessible through ECOI.NET's page on "focus on health in COI".
